Unwin designed the first garden city near Letchworth and also Hampstead Garden Suburb among others. The book was presented by him to his successor R Hardy Sims. Loosely inserted are a few letters including a copy of one to Cockerell from Hardy Sims and an original hand written letter from Cockerell, on his letterhead paper, both concerning this binding

A pioneering British post impressionist and member of ‘The Whitechapel Boys, Wolmark, a Polish emigré settled in England in1883 and studied at the Royal Academy Schools during the mid 1890’s. A collaborator with Diaghilev he is represented in many collections including the Tate Gallery and National Portrait Gallery
