Phoebe Anna Traquair (1852-1936) Illuminated manuscript page from Horae Beatae Virgins. From the Book of Hours belonging to Ruskin.
Bodycolour heightened with gold on vellum.
Traquair copied the pages from John Ruskin's book in 1887 after corresponding with him. Ruskin lent her his book from which she made the copies of these pages to help her understand the art of Book illumination.
