01_ An Arts and Crafts three panel screen
A three panel oak Arts & Crafts screen. Inset
with painted and embroidered panels, coloured bull-nose leaded
glass set into copper with gesso, mother of pearl and stencilled
linen. Circa 1900.
This piece is interesting in the way it uses
all the popular materials of the day to express its craft and
design. It could possibly have been made by a firm to show its
diversity of work. 'The Studio Magazine of Art' shows similar
pieces entered into competitions around this date.
Height: 69"/1755mm.
Width: 80"/2030mm -
